BioModels database
Trainers: Rahuman S. Malik Sheriff, John Lees
Overview: A demonstration and hands-on session to explore existing infectious disease models in the BioModels repository
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session, you should be able to:
- Navigate and utilise BioModels as a repository for discovering, accessing, and reusing mathematical models of biological systems across different model types (ODE, stochastic, constraint-based, and machine learning models)
- Understand the principles of FAIR data (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and how they apply to computational models in life sciences
- Recognise the reproducibility crisis in computational modeling and identify common barriers to reproducibility (missing parameters, structural inconsistencies, missing initial conditions)
