Recorded webinar
Pangenome annotations and resources in Ensembl
Ensembl provides pangenome annotations for many eukaryotic species, including human, model organisms, livestock and crop plants. In this talk, we will detail the annotation process we have developed for pangenomes, including the strengths, limitations and future directions. We will also highlight some of the resources available in Ensembl around pangenomes and how to access them.
Who is this course for?
This webinar is suitable for students, biologists, bioinformaticians and researchers interested in learning about eukaryotic pangenome annotations, and available Esembl resources. No prior knowledge of the field is required, but an undergraduate level of biology would be helpful.
This event is part of a broader webinar series exploring concepts, methods and resources in pangenomics. For more information about the series and its webinars, please visit the following link: "Concepts, methods and resources in pangenomics".
Additional materials
Following the webinar, the speaker has provided additional materials to support the questions asked during the live event (additional information and link to resources). You can find the materials in this .pdf file.
Outcomes
By the end of this webinar you will be able to:
- Explain how Ensembl annotates pangenomes
- Identify and discuss the challenges of annotating a pangenome and the most likely sources of error
- Describe and access the pangenomic resources Ensembl offers
