Recorded webinar

Open access: Finding and accessing open data

Our open access webinar series continues with an introduction to finding and accessing open data. The webinar will begin with an overview of the kind of open access data available from EMBL-EBI and a demonstration of finding data on the EMBL-EBI website using EBI Search. The concept of programmatic access will also be introduced, with information about how and why APIs can be used to access open data and guidance on where to find more detail about access to different EMBL-EBI resources.

The webinar will then focus on BioStudies, a database that holds descriptions of biological studies and links to data, both in EMBL-EBI resources and beyond. This section will provide an introduction to BioStudies, examples of how it can be used in your research and a demonstration of the resource itself.

Who is this course for?

This webinar is for anyone who would like to learn about finding open access life sciences data from EMBL-EBI and the role of the BioStudies database. No prior knowledge is required.
