How to fetch data from the Protein Data Bank using PDBe API
This webinar will introduce the PDBe REST API, which can be used to fetch data of structures, proteins, ligands and complexes in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). In addition to getting information about individual PDB entries, we will highlight how this API can be used to fetch structural and functional annotations aggregated from multiple PDB entries.
This event is part of the 6-part webinar series “Accessing structural data programmatically with PDBe”. You can follow the link for more information about the series and its webinars.
Who is this course for?
This webinar is suitable for PhD students, structural bioinformaticians, and users interested in programmatic access to data from the PDB. Prior experience of working with the PDBe would be desirable.
Outcomes
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:
- Use the PDBe REST API to quickly fetch data from the PDB
- Easily access aggregated structural and functional annotations of proteins, ligands and complexes to gain broader insights.
- Build simple API queries you can integrate into scripts and workflows for automated access to PDBe resources
