Recorded webinar

Exploring molecular interactions in-depth across species

This webinar provides an introduction to the visualisation of molecular networks across species. It will begin with a presentation of the IntAct Portal’s approach to molecular network modelling. Subsequently, the implementation of this modelling within the IntAct Cytoscape app will be demonstrated. This section will cover the construction of networks, methods for accessing detailed information, the available visualisation modes, and approaches to styling and filtering. Additionally, it will illustrate how network participants can be grouped according to orthology.

Who is this course for?

This webinar is aimed at students or early researchers beginning to use bioinformatics resources in their studies/research who wish to learn more about molecular interactions and IntAct. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.

Outcomes

By the end of the webinar you will be able to:

  • Explain what molecular interactions are
  • Build biological networks of interest using IntAct
  • Identify impact of perturbations, intra and inter species
