Who is this series for?
This webinar series is suitable for anyone interested in microbial ecology and keen to learn more about the applications of metagenomics in modern microbial studies. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but an undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
Outcomes
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:
- Define the human microbiome and explain its significance
- Discuss the ecological importance of microbial communities in maintaining the health and balance of ecosystems
- Discuss the approaches used in studying microbiomes in diverse habitats
- Identify publicly available metagenomic and genomic databases, along with relevant analysis tools
- Describe the fundamental principles underlying statistical tests
