Exploring genotype-phenotype data using the GWAS Catalog
The GWAS Catalog is the primary resource of genotype-phenotype associations identified through genome-wide association studies. GWAS Catalog data are publicly available in a consistent, searchable, and visualisable format, which is easily integrated with other resources. Uses for the data include prioritising candidate loci, exploring disease mechanisms, predicting risk of disease, identifying new drug targets, gathering statistics on traits or populations of interest, and downloading full summary data for use in downstream analyses.
This webinar will include a brief introduction to the GWAS Catalog and a demonstration of our web-based search interface, focusing on the most common use cases.
Who is this course for?
This webinar is suitable for researchers, clinicians and bioinformaticians working in the field of genomics.
Outcomes
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:
- Describe the type and scope of data contained in the GWAS Catalog
- Perform commonly used queries to search and access GWAS Catalog data in the web interface
