Course Overview

This workshop is part 1 of two workshops designed to provide an overview of appropriate EMBL-EBI resources for researchers working in the field of biomedical research.  This first workshop focuses on protein sequence, classification and interaction resources, whilst also introducing sequence searching.

Audience

This course is aimed at bench biologists who need to gain more experience of the bioinformatics resources available in their field. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required.

Learning outcomes

After this course you should be able to:

  • Access a range of appropriate resources from EMBL-EBI
  • Retrieve relevant protein information from UniProt, IntAct, InterPro and Complex Portal
  • Search for interaction information using IntAct, Reactome and Complex Portal
  • Undertake sequence searches using appropriate tools and resources
