Course Overview

This course will provide an overview of EBI resources available for gene and protein analysis.

Audience

This workshop forms part of an integrated programme run for doctoral students studying Biology at the University of Aveiro, Portugal and associated institues.

Learning outcomes

After this course you should be able to:

  • Use Ensembl genomes and interpret comparative genomics data
  • Undertake sequence searching and alignment using a variety of tools based at EMBL-EBI
  • Browse the Inter-Pro database and use the specialised sequence searching functions
  • Learn how to explore reactions and pathways, making us of molecular interaction databases
