Abstract

|
Beta-Momorcharin from seeds of Momordica charantia, Cucurbitaceae Linn, has been
crystallized using a vapor diffusion method. The crystals belong to space group
P1 with unit cell parameters: a = 49.09 A, b = 50.58 A, c = 61.12 A, alpha =
72.98 degrees, beta = 78.39 degrees, gamma = 76.97 degrees. There are two
molecules in the unit cell and the diffraction data up to 2.4 A resolution were
collected on an X-200B area detector, giving an Rmerge of 7.8%.
