Emily joined the Training team in February 2020 as an Event and Marketing Officer working closely with the EMBL-EBI Industry team on a variety of programme member workshops and marketing projects.

In 2008, Emily graduated with a 1st Class Ba (Hons) in Photography from the University for the Creative Arts in Kent. She was introduced to the events sector while working as a receptionist in the UK and for a short time abroad in New Zealand.

In 2010 Emily joined the orthopaedic device company DePuy Synthes, owned by Johnson & Johnson Ltd. Here she spent 10 successful years based in Hertfordshire, as an Event Co-ordinator in a small team seconded to the AO Foundation; a not-for-profit global network dedicated to the education and research of surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. The role included managing local logistics and marketing for a number of surgical training courses around the UK and Ireland.
