The PDBe homepage at PDBe.org is your gateway to accessing the wealth of data in the PDB archive, as well as an array of related training and outreach materials. We have redesigned and modernised these pages, making it easier for users to easily access all this information.
The update to the PDBe homepage includes a revamp of the whole front page at PDBe.org, with content reorganised and simplified to make it easier to access our services and articles. There have also been improvements to the page header and menu bar, in addition to updates to the content on pages related to training and outreach.
PDBe homepage updates
The header on the PDBe homepage now follows the standard EMBL-EBI template, strengthening the PDBe brand’s link to our parent organisation. There is still a single search bar with autocomplete, while the menu has been updated to provide direct links to the PDBe Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB) resource and the PDB Art project pages.
The new pages are now better optimised to support mobile devices, with the content dynamically reorganised depending on the screen size. These changes should ensure a good browsing experience for users on any device, as we have implemented on our other resource pages, such as the PDBe-KB aggregated views.
There continues to be information on release statistics on our homepage, however these are now more clearly presented through the use of icons in line with the formatting on the PDBe-KB aggregated views. There are also more clear links to key PDBe services displayed prominently on the homepage, making it easy for users to access PDBe resources to support their research.
PDB Art pages
As part of the update to the PDBe homepage, there has been a revamped of the outreach content provided from this page. This includes a revamping of the pages relating to our PDB Art project, with pages now dedicated to artworks and exhibitions, PDB Art in the media, resources to support the project, PDB Art feedback and evaluation, and information about our wonderful collaborators. You can access these pages from the menu on the homepage or directly at pdbe.org/art.
Our Artworks and Exhibitions page provides information about all our previous exhibitions, including access to our recent virtual exhibitions to view the artwork created in the project. The ‘In the Media’ page provides access to all the calendars that feature artworks from the project, with each available to view online or to download and print. The resources page now provides a dedicated collection of materials that can be used to support the project, including videos, tutorials and other external resources.
We hope you find these pages clear and easy to navigate. If you have any comments, please use the ‘feedback’ button on the homepage to contact us.
