Optical density range

The optical density range (OD=-log 10 transmission). To the eye OD=1 appears light grey and OD=3 is opaque.

Example: 1.4

Bits per pixel

The number of bits per pixel.

Range: 2 to 128
Example: 8

Scanner model

Micrographs are scanned and a digital output is obtained. If images were recorded using CCD, direct electron detector or alternative devices use "n/a".
