An autoimmune disease that is characterized by recurrent venous or arterial thrombosis and/or fetal losses associated with characteristic elevated levels of antibodies, including lupus anticoagulant (LAC), anticardiolipin (aCL) antibody, and anti-beta-2glycoprotein I antibody, directed against membrane anionic phospholipids.
