Small-molecule inhibitor: JTP-4819
Name
- Common name
- JTP-4819
Inhibition
- History
- JTP-4819 was described by Toide and co-workers in 1995.
- Peptidases inhibited
- Inhibits prolyl oligopeptidase. Fibroblast-activation protein is unaffected (Collins et al., 2004).
- Mechanism
- Inhibition is competitive, tight binding with a K(ic) of 0.045 nM (Venalainen et al., 2002).
- Pharmaceutical relevance
- Inhibitors of prolyl oligopeptidase have been reported to have anti-amnesic effects, and as such are of pharmaceutical interest.
