RapGEF2 (CNrasGEF) is a Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor that specifically activates Rap1 [PMID: 20595512]. It is involved in embryonic hematopoiesis [PMID: 20595512], proper development of the midline commissures [PMID: 21864586] and neuronal migration in the developing cerebral cortex [PMID: 25189171]. It functions in the cAMP-induced Erk signalling pathway that leads to neuritogenesis [PMID: 23800469]. It has a role in regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis [PMID: 16272156].
