Family relationships

Equilibrative nucleoside transporter 3 (ENT3), also known as solute carrier family 29 member 3 (SLC29A3), is a broad selectivity, low affinity nucleoside transporter that can also transport adenine [PMID: 15701636]. The N-terminal hydrophilic domain of ENT3 bears typical (DE)XXXL(LI) endosomal/lysosomal targeting motifs [PMID: 15701636]. The human ENT3 is localised in endosomal/lysosomal membranes and is broadly expressed with higher abundance in placenta [PMID: 12838422, PMID: 23506887]. It contains 11 predicted transmembrane domains (TMDs) and a large hydrophilic loop at the N terminus [PMID: 11584005].
