It has been\nidentified in spliceosomal U11-48K proteins, tRNA methyl-transferases TRM13\nand gametocyte specific factors (GTSF). The CHHC U11-48K-type zinc finger (~30\nresidues) is present in a single copy in U11-48k AND TRM13, whereas GTSF\ncontains two repeats separated by a short linker. The CHHC U11-48K-type zinc\nfinger may function as a RNA recognition and binding module [[cite:PUB00053822]][[cite:PUB00059781]].\n\nThe CHHC U11-48K-type zinc finger contains four invariant Cys and His residues\nwith a consensus sequence of C-x(5,7)-H-x(7,9)-H-x(3,4)-C. It\nstochiometrically binds zinc ions in a one-to-one ratio. The structure of the\nCHHC U11-48K-type zinc finger consists of a beta hairpin followed by a helix. the zinc ion is coordinated by Cys and His residues from the\nbeta hairpin and by His and Cys residues from the helix, respectively. The\nhelical region has an alpha-helical conformation that is interrupted in the\nmiddle by a single pi-helical turn [[cite:PUB00059781]].\n\nThe profile we developed covers the entire CHHC U11-48K-type zinc finger.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00053822":{"PMID":18703587,"ISBN":null,"volume":"24","issue":"20","year":2008,"title":"A novel CHHC Zn-finger domain found in spliceosomal proteins and tRNA modifying enzymes.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"2277-80","medline_journal":"Bioinformatics","ISO_journal":"Bioinformatics","authors":["Andreeva A","Tidow H."],"DOI_URL":"http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/bioinformatics/btn431"},"PUB00059781":{"PMID":19217400,"ISBN":null,"volume":"17","issue":"2","year":2009,"title":"Solution structure of the U11-48K CHHC zinc-finger domain that specifically binds the 5' splice site of U12-type introns.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"294-302","medline_journal":"Structure","ISO_journal":"Structure","authors":["Tidow H","Andreeva A","Rutherford TJ","Fersht AR."],"DOI_URL":"http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.str.2008.11.013"}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":0,"interactions":0,"matches":8800,"pathways":0,"proteins":6625,"proteomes":1921,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":6004,"bfvd":0},"structures":12,"taxa":6218},"entry_annotations":{},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
