The structured core consists of a beta-barrel with six beta-strands and two short alpha-helices. The domain contains a conserved SFPD tetrapeptide motif in the loops between beta-strands, resulting in a pseudo fivefold symmetry with conserved phenylalanine side chains pointing outward. The domain is exceptionally stable against chemical denaturation and shows high mechanical resistance. The domain was first predicted by AlphaFold2 and experimentally confirmed by X-ray crystallography and solution NMR.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00161463":{"PMID":38072060,"ISBN":null,"volume":"300","issue":"1","year":2024,"title":"Structure, dynamics, and stability of the smallest and most complex 7<sub>1</sub> protein knot.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"105553","medline_journal":"J Biol Chem","ISO_journal":"J Biol Chem","authors":["Hsu MF","Sriramoju MK","Lai CH","Chen YR","Huang JS","Ko TP","Huang KF","Hsu SD."],"DOI_URL":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jbc.2023.105553"}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":3,"interactions":0,"matches":616,"pathways":0,"proteins":615,"proteomes":583,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":395},"structures":0,"taxa":1076},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":132,"alignment:full":264},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
