SHOC1 is an integral to the formation of crossover recombination intermediates during mammalian meiosis [[cite:PUB00090399]]. SHOC1 preferentially binds branched DNA molecules but apparently lacks in vitro endonuclease activity [[cite:PUB00090399]]. The core of SHOC1 resembles the DNA repair endonuclease XPF. This domain has significant similarity to P-loop AAA ATPase domains. This aligns with the SHOC1 ATPase activity, which is stimulated by the presence of single-stranded DNA [[cite:PUB00090399]].</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00090399":{"PMID":29742103,"ISBN":null,"volume":"14","issue":"5","year":2018,"title":"SHOC1 is a ERCC4-(HhH)2-like protein, integral to the formation of crossover recombination intermediates during mammalian meiosis.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"e1007381","medline_journal":"PLoS Genet","ISO_journal":"PLoS Genet.","authors":["Guiraldelli MF","Felberg A","Almeida LP","Parikh A","de Castro RO","Pezza RJ."],"DOI_URL":"https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pgen.1007381"}},"set_info":{"accession":"CL0023","name":"P-loop_NTPase"},"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":29,"interactions":0,"matches":818,"pathways":0,"proteins":793,"proteomes":575,"sets":1,"structural_models":{"alphafold":301},"structures":0,"taxa":2030},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":33,"alignment:full":702},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
