Members are small acidic cytoplasmic proteins required for Dot/Icm-dependent activities. Binary complexes of IcmW-IcmS and of IcmS-LvgA have been consistently reported, suggestive of the binary WXG100 system. The IcmW-IcmS complex may play a role in recruitment of effector proteins to the transport apparatus [[cite:PUB00075640]].
","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":[{"title":"Type_IV_secretion#Secretion_in_Gram_negative_bacteria","extract":"
Secretion is the movement of material from one point to another, such as a secreted chemical substance from a cell or gland. In contrast, excretion is the removal of certain substances or waste products from a cell or organism. The classical mechanism of cell secretion is via secretory portals at the plasma membrane called porosomes. Porosomes are permanent cup-shaped lipoprotein structures embedded in the cell membrane, where secretory vesicles transiently dock and fuse to release intra-vesicular contents from the cell.
","thumbnail":null}],"literature":{"PUB00075640":{"PMID":21743810,"ISBN":null,"volume":"2","issue":null,"year":2011,"title":"Type IVB Secretion Systems of Legionella and Other Gram-Negative Bacteria.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"136","medline_journal":"Front Microbiol","ISO_journal":"Front Microbiol","authors":["Nagai H","Kubori T."],"DOI_URL":"http://dx.doi.org/10.3389/fmicb.2011.00136"}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":1,"interactions":0,"matches":75,"pathways":0,"proteins":75,"proteomes":74,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":67},"structures":4,"taxa":110},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":9,"alignment:full":38},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":{"accession":"5x1e","name":"Structure of DotL(656-783)-IcmS-IcmW derived from Legionella pneumophila"}}}
