Lymphostatin is a key virulence factor of enteropathogenic and enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli, playing roles in bacterial colonisation of the gut and in the inhibition of lymphocyte proliferation and proinflammatory responses [[cite:PUB00164033]]. Lymphostatin is composed of six distinct domains which enable complex interactions with host cells. These domains include two glycosyltransferase domains, one PaToxP-like protease domain, an ADP-ribosyltransferase domain, a vertex domain and a delivery domain [[cite:PUB00164033]]. The delvery domain is involved in the receptor binding and translocation. It is an evolutionary conserved translocation and delivery apparatus in LCT-like toxins [[cite:PUB00164033]]. The delivery domain shows some flexibility and can adopt different conformations.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00164033":{"PMID":40562750,"ISBN":null,"volume":"16","issue":"1","year":2025,"title":"Structure of lymphostatin, a large multi-functional virulence factor of pathogenic Escherichia coli.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"5389","medline_journal":"Nat Commun","ISO_journal":"Nat Commun","authors":["Griessmann M","Rasmussen T","Flegler VJ","Kraft C","Schneider R","Hateley M","Spantzel L","Stevens MP","Borsch M","Bottcher B."],"DOI_URL":"https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-025-60995-9"}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":10,"interactions":0,"matches":50,"pathways":0,"proteins":44,"proteomes":19,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":10},"structures":5,"taxa":75},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":7,"alignment:full":13},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
