Duc1 localizes to the plasma membrane, except at the cell division site, and its localization is controlled by interactions with the ER-PM contact site proteins Scs2 and Scs22 through a FFAT-like motif. Duc1 promotes proper localization of the PI-5 kinase Its3, thereby maintaining appropriate levels of PI(4,5)P2 at the plasma membrane. This function is important for proper anchoring of the cytokinetic ring during cell division. Duc1 contains a conserved domain previously known as the DUF1769 domain of unknown function.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00155608":{"PMID":39239853,"ISBN":null,"volume":"137","issue":"18","year":2024,"title":"Fission yeast Duc1 links to ER-PM contact sites and influences PM lipid composition and cytokinetic ring anchoring.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"jcs262347","medline_journal":"J Cell Sci","ISO_journal":"J Cell Sci","authors":["Willet AH","Park JS","Snider CE","Huang JJ","Chen JS","Gould KL."],"DOI_URL":"https://doi.org/10.1242/jcs.262347"}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":67,"interactions":0,"matches":2488,"pathways":0,"proteins":2341,"proteomes":1476,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":1913},"structures":0,"taxa":3195},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":333,"alignment:full":2086},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
