In Saccharomyces cerevisiae this is AdoMet dependent proline di-methyltransferase. This enzyme catalyses the di-methylation of ribosomal proteins Rpl12 and Rps25 at N-terminal proline residues. The methyltransferases described here specifically recognise the N-terminal X-Pro-Lys sequence motif, and they may account for nearly all previously described eukaryotic protein N-terminal methylation reactions. A number of other yeast and human proteins also share the recognition motif and may be similarly modified [[cite:PUB00073462]]. As with other methyltransferases, this family carries the characteristic GxGxG motif.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00073462":{"PMID":20481588,"ISBN":null,"volume":"49","issue":"25","year":2010,"title":"Identification of protein N-terminal methyltransferases in yeast and humans.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"5225-35","medline_journal":"Biochemistry","ISO_journal":"Biochemistry","authors":["Webb KJ","Lipson RS","Al-Hadid Q","Whitelegge JP","Clarke SG."],"DOI_URL":"http://dx.doi.org/10.1021/bi100428x"}},"set_info":{"accession":"CL0063","name":"NADP_Rossmann"},"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":101,"interactions":0,"matches":5426,"pathways":0,"proteins":5051,"proteomes":3284,"sets":1,"structural_models":{"alphafold":4329},"structures":25,"taxa":8737},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":7,"alignment:full":4180},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":{"accession":"7d8d","name":"The crystal structure of ScNTM1 in complex with SAH and Rps25a hexapeptide"}}}
