The CUB domain is a structural motif of approximately 110 residues found almost exclusively in extracellular and plasma membrane-associated proteins, many of which are developmentally regulated. These proteins are involved in a diverse range of functions, including complement activation, developmental patterning, tissue repair, axon guidance and angiogenesis, cell signalling, fertilisation, haemostasis, inflammation, neurotransmission, receptor-mediated endocytosis, and tumour suppression. Many CUB-containing proteins are peptidases belonging to MEROPS peptidase families M12A (astacin) and S1A (chymotrypsin).</p>","thumbnail":null}],"literature":null,"set_info":{"accession":"CL0164","name":"CUB"},"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":37,"interactions":0,"matches":593,"pathways":0,"proteins":536,"proteomes":20,"sets":1,"structural_models":{"alphafold":523},"structures":0,"taxa":87},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":24,"alignment:full":470},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
