It functions to modulate the membrane potential, particularly to resist high cellular cation concentration. In eukaryotic organisms, stress-activated mitogen-activated protein kinases play crucial roles in transmitting environmental signals that will regulate gene expression for allowing the cell to adapt to cellular stress. Pmp3-like proteins are highly conserved in bacteria, yeast, nematode and plants.</p>","llm":false,"checked":false,"updated":false}],"wikipedia":null,"literature":{"PUB00100132":{"PMID":16603158,"ISBN":null,"volume":"580","issue":"10","year":2006,"title":"The fission yeast stress MAPK cascade regulates the pmp3+ gene that encodes a highly conserved plasma membrane protein.","URL":null,"raw_pages":"2409-13","medline_journal":"FEBS Lett","ISO_journal":"FEBS Lett","authors":["Wang LY","Shiozaki K."],"DOI_URL":null}},"set_info":null,"overlaps_with":null,"counters":{"subfamilies":0,"domain_architectures":139,"interactions":0,"matches":12229,"pathways":0,"proteins":12165,"proteomes":5976,"sets":0,"structural_models":{"alphafold":9376},"structures":2,"taxa":10614},"entry_annotations":{"hmm":0,"logo":0,"alignment:seed":299,"alignment:full":7686},"cross_references":{},"is_llm":false,"is_reviewed_llm":false,"is_updated_llm":false,"representative_structure":null}}
