IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 6.2.1.15

Names

Accepted name:
arachidonate—CoA ligase
Other name:
arachidonoyl-CoA synthetase
Systematic name:
arachidonate:CoA ligase (AMP-forming)

Reaction

Comments:

Not identical with EC 6.2.1.3 long-chain-fatty-acid-CoA ligase. 8,11,14-Icosatrienoate, but not the other long-chain fatty acids, can act in place of arachidonate.
