EC 2.1.1.n1

This is a preliminary EC number. The content has not yet been validated and included in the official IUBMB Enzyme list.

Names

Accepted name:
resorcinol O-methyltransferase
Other names:
O-methyltransferase 12
omt12 (gene name)
Systematic name:
S-adenosyl-L-methionine:resorcinol 3-O-methyltransferase

Reaction

Comments:

The enzyme from Dictyostelium discoideum is involed in modifying the resorcinolic back-bone of the differentiation regulating factor 4-methyl-5-pentylbenzene-1,3-diol. It also shows activity towards 5-pentylbenzene-1,3-diol.
