IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature

Accepted name:
thujopsene synthase
Systematic name:
(2E,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate lyase (cyclizing, (+)-thujopsene-forming)

The recombinant enzyme from the plant Arabidopsis thaliana produces 27.3% (+)-α-barbatene, 17.8% (+)-thujopsene and 9.9% (+)-β-chamigrene [1] plus traces of other sesquiterpenoids [2]. See EC (+)-α-barbatene synthase, and EC β-chamigrene synthase.
