IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 4.2.3.105

Names

Accepted name:
tricyclene synthase
Other name:
TPS3
Systematic name:
geranyl-diphosphate diphosphate-lyase (cyclizing; tricyclene-forming)

Reaction

Comments:

The enzyme from Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) gives a mixture of tricyclene, camphene, beta-myrcene, limonene, and traces of several other monoterpenoids. See EC 4.2.3.117, (−)-camphene synthase, EC 4.2.3.15, myrcene synthase and EC 4.2.3.16, (4S)-limonene synthase.
