IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 4.2.1.127

Names

Accepted name:
linalool dehydratase
Systematic name:
linalool hydro-lyase (myrcene-forming)

Reaction

Comments:

In absence of oxygen the bifunctional linalool dehydratase-isomerase can catalyse in vitro two reactions, the dehydration of linalool to myrcene and the isomerization of geraniol to linalool (the latter activity is classified as EC 5.4.4.4, geraniol isomerase).
