EC 3.5.4.17
Names
Accepted name:
adenosine-phosphate deaminase
Other
names:
adenine nucleotide deaminase
adenosine (phosphate) deaminase
adenylate deaminase
adenosine (phosphate) deaminase
adenylate deaminase
Systematic name:
adenosine-phosphate aminohydrolase
Reactions
- (1) AMP + H2O = IMP + NH3
- (2) ADP + H2O = IDP + NH3
- (3) ATP + H2O = ITP + NH3
Comments:
Acts on AMP, ADP, ATP, NAD+ and adenosine, in decreasing order of activity. The bacterial enzyme can also accept the deoxy derivatives. cf. EC 3.5.4.6, AMP deaminase.
