IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature

Accepted name:
ureidoglycolate amidohydrolase
Other names:
ureidoglycolate hydrolase
UAH (gene name)
Systematic name:
(S)-ureidoglycolate amidohydrolase (decarboxylating)

This plant enzyme is involved in the degradation of ureidoglycolate, an intermediate of purine degradation. Not to be confused with EC, ureidoglycolate lyase, which releases urea rather than ammonia.
