IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 3.2.1.170

Names

Accepted name:
mannosylglycerate hydrolase
Other name:
MgH
Systematic name:
2-O-(α-D-mannopyranosyl)-D-glycerate D-mannohydrolase

Reaction

Comments:

The enzyme participates in the mannosylglycerate degradation pathway of some bacteria. Mannosylglycerate is phosphorylated during transport into the cell, and the phosphorylated form is hydrolysed by this enzyme.
