IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 2.6.1.64

Names

Accepted name:
glutamine—phenylpyruvate transaminase
Other names:
glutamine transaminase K
glutamine-phenylpyruvate aminotransferase
Systematic name:
L-glutamine:phenylpyruvate aminotransferase

Reaction

Cofactor

Comments:

A pyridoxal-phosphate protein. L-Methionine, L-histidine and L-tyrosine can act as donors. The enzyme has little activity on pyruvate and glyoxylate (cf. EC 2.6.1.15 glutamine—pyruvate transaminase).
