IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 2.4.1.136

Names

Accepted name:
gallate 1-β-glucosyltransferase
Other names:
UDP-glucose—vanillate 1-glucosyltransferase
UDPglucose:gallate glucosyltransferase
UDPglucose:vanillate 1-O-glucosyltransferase
UDP-glucose:gallate β-D-glucosyltransferase
Systematic name:
UDP-α-D-glucose:gallate β-D-glucosyltransferase

Reactions

Comments:

A number of substituted benzoic acids and, more slowly, cinnamic acids, can act as acceptors. Vanillin is the best acceptor investigated.
