IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 2.3.1.153

Names

Accepted name:
anthocyanin 5-(6'''-hydroxycinnamoyltransferase)
Systematic name:
4-hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA:anthocyanidin 3,5-di-O-β-D-glucoside 5-O-glucoside-6'''-O-4-hydroxycinnamoyltransferase

Reaction

Comments:

Isolated from the plant Gentiana triflora. Transfers the hydroxycinnamoyl group only to the C-5 glucoside of anthocyanin. Caffeoyl-CoA, but not malonyl-CoA, can substitute as an acyl donor.
