Choose a Globus upload method
After you create a submission, you need to transfer your summary-statistics files to the GWAS Catalog submission folder. Globus provides two ways to do this:
| Globus method | Best suited to | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Globus Personal Connect | Large files, larger datasets or long-running transfers | Globus transfers files from a folder on your computer through your registered Personal Connect endpoint. |
| Globus File Manager upload | Smaller files or shorter transfers | In the File Manager, choose Upload for the GWAS Catalog submission collection and select files through your browser. |
Globus Personal Connect
Globus Personal Connect uses dedicated file-transfer tooling and is the more reliable option for large files or larger datasets. A transfer can continue in the background after it has started.
Globus File Manager upload
The File Manager upload action selects files through your browser. It is convenient for smaller files and shorter transfers, but it depends on the browser session and network connection. Interruptions can make large or long-running uploads less reliable.
Both methods transfer summary-statistics files through Globus. The completed submission form is different: after you fill it in, upload it separately through the Submission App as described in Upload the submission form.
