Submission overview

Supported submission types

The GWAS Catalog accepts summary statistics for both published and unpublished human genome-wide association studies.

We currently support submissions for GWAS analysing three main types of genetic variation:

  • single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)
  • gene-based (aggregated) analyses
  • copy number variations (CNVs)

This documentation focuses on submitting summary statistics for SNP-based GWAS. To submit gene-based or CNV GWAS data, see the dedicated Beyond SNPs submission instructions.

Submission journey

Use the sections in the left-hand menu to follow the part of the process you need:

  1. Prepare your submission: find the submission scenario, prepare your summary statistics and check the requirements.
  2. Create a submission: sign in, connect your Globus account and create the submission.
  3. Upload your files: choose the appropriate transfer method and upload your files.
  4. Complete the submission form: enter the information that accompanies your summary statistics, then upload it in the Submission App.
  5. After submission: find your accessions and understand what happens next.
