# GWAS Catalog Documentation

> Documentation for the NHGRI-EBI GWAS Catalog: curated human genome-wide association studies, variant-trait associations, traits, and related reference data.

Use the GWAS Catalog MCP server for interactive questions, data discovery, and targeted queries with an MCP-compatible AI agent. Use the REST API for targeted programmatic queries from scripts, applications, and analysis pipelines. For bulk access and large-scale analyses, download the GWAS Catalog flat files. Do not retrieve bulk datasets through repeated REST API or MCP queries.
