Surgeries in 2018

Work on your submissions or your submission pipelines at the ENA

Whether you are developing a submission pipeline for your group, acting as a broker for multiple groups, or simply have a submission to do but you are not clear on the best way to represent your study and get it archived; then one of the upcoming ENA submission surgeries is for you! Surgeries are run regularly (based on demand) at the European Bioinformatics Institute and ENA staff are on hand to work through your submissions or pipelines with you. Attending a surgery is a good alternative to using the ENA helpdesk because we can offer dedicated one to one support which is not easy to do remotely via email or telephone correspondence. You can attend a surgery in person at the EBI or you can schedule a live skype appointment.

Ways to attend a surgery

  1. Attend in person at the EBI (you can bring your laptop and prepare your data in advance if possible).
  2. Schedule a live Skype appointment with a member of the ENA help desk and curation team

Interested? What to do next.

Send an email to datasubs@ebi.ac.uk to say you are interested in attending a surgery. Please specify if you’d like to connect by Skype or come to the EBI. If you would like to come to the EBI we will try to find a date that suits you and others that are also interested in attending the same surgery.
Surgeries will take place in a large meeting room with internet access and a projector (please bring your laptop). Participants can plan their own schedule depending on their objectives and their work in progress.
