GnuPG

*The EGA Webin Data Uploader tools can be used from the command line to encrypt and generate the md5sums for each file locally WITHOUT upload.  We strongly advise all submitters to use this method over manual GPG encryption and md5sum generation.  Click here to find out how to use the EGA Webin Data Uploader from the command line.

Before uploading your data files to your upload account, all data files must be encrypted using GnuPG.

Quick quide to using GnuPG for encryption

i)  Follow the installation instructions found here.
ii)  Obtain the EGA public key here (you may need to remove the .doc extension)

Import the EGA public key by using the command:

gpg --import EGA_Public_Key

iii) Now encrypt your files using the command:

gpg -e [filename1] [filename2] [etc]

For EGA public key, enter your UID as 'EGA_Public_Key'.

You should now have an encrypted copy for each file, with the suffix *.gpg*.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PROVIDE MD5SUM VALUES FOR EACH UNENCRYPTED AND ENCRYPTED FILE SUBMITTED

- Md5sum values should be provided as a separate md5 file for each encrypted file deposited.

  For example: Data_file_1.gpg

                            Data_file_1.gpg.md5

                            Data_file_1.md5

- Each file should only contain the 32 character string.  DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL CHARACTERS TO THE FILE.

**YOUR SUBMISSION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND MAY BE SIGNIFICANTLY DELAYED IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE MD5SUM VALUES FOR ALL DATA FILES iN THE FORMAT REQUIRED**
