General Comment
2011-05-20 Diuron is a specific and sensitive inhibitor of photosynthesis (it blocks the plastoquinone binding site of photosystem II, preventing the electron flow from where it is generated, in photosystem II, to plastoquinone, so interrupting the photosynthetic electron transport chain in photosynthesis), and is used as non-selective systemic herbicide (mainly for the control of weeds on hard surfaces, but also selectively before emergence on crops such as asparagus and soft fruits).
