ChEBI Name ferric ammonium citrate
ChEBI ID CHEBI:31604
Definition A mixture of indefinite composition that contains ferric and ammonium cations and citrate(3−) anions, ferric ammonium citrate may be obtained as red crystals or a brownish yellow powder or as green crystals or powder. It is added to foods as an acidity regulator and anticaking agent. It is also used as a positive oral contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging, and was formerly administered orally as a source of iron for the treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia.

ferroptosis inducer
Any substance that induces or promotes ferroptosis (a type of programmed cell death dependent on iron and characterized by the accumulation of lipid peroxides) in organisms.
antiviral agent
A substance that destroys or inhibits replication of viruses.
