Scientific Programmer - Cochrane team: European Nucleotide Archive
Peter is a Data Coordination Engineer in EMBL-EBI's Data Coordination and Archiving team. He manages the Data Coordination Centres for consortiums such as the Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) and the Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Initiative (HipSci). This involves coordinating archive submissions, establishing and validating against metadata standards and developing project data portal websites.
Peter joined EMBL-EBI in 2015, having previously worked as a postdoc at University College London and University of Oxford on the transcriptomics and evolution of sexual selection in birds. Peter obtained his PhD from the University of York, where he investigated bacterial secondary replicons through comparative genomics. He previously obtained an MRes in Bioinformatics from University of York and an MA in Biological Sciences from University of Oxford.
