Hannah joined the Birney research group as a pre-doctoral fellow in October 2013. Before coming to Cambridge, she studied molecular biotechnology at Heidelberg University, Germany, where she obtained her BSc and MSc. For her master's thesis, she investigated the regulation of gene expression in the thymus and its impact on T cell tolerance induction. In her dissertation research at the EBI, she works on methods for genotype to phenotype mapping with a focus on high-dimensional phenotype data describing the morphology of the human heart. Alongside her research, Hannah has been organizing and teaching courses for the EMBL-EBI international PhD program.
