EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus, a world-leading hub for genomic and biodata research.
We are located 10 miles (16 km) South of Cambridge, near the village of Hinxton, and 30km from London Stansted airport. We are served by two local railway stations, and are situated close to Junction 10 of the M11 motorway.

When you arrive, pull in at the Security building, which is on your left just before the entry booth. You will be issued a badge and your host will be contacted.
Costs for recommended companies: approximately £25 from Cambridge, roughly £45 from Stansted Airport. Unbooked taxis could cost over £50.
There are trains to the area from Cambridge, London Liverpool Street, London King’s Cross (adjacent to the St. Pancras EuroStar) and Stansted airport.

Nearest stations: Whittlesford Parkway, Audley End, and Great Chesterford.
Please do not try to walk to EMBL-EBI from the nearest train stations because the route is not pedestrian-friendly. Use the information above to arrange a taxi pick-up in advance.
The closest airport is London Stansted with regular connections to many cities in Europe and nearly 200 cities worldwide.
Stansted Airport is a 30-minute drive from the Wellcome Genome Campus.
If you fly into London Heathrow or Gatwick, allow at least 2 hours to reach Hinxton by road. A taxi from these airports costs over £100.
