Data transmission for international genomics projectsShenzhen, 7-8 October 2010Because of the new generation (high-throughput) sequencing technology generates data at a much larger scale and quicker pace, the data transmission has become a major bottleneck for international projects to exchange their data. The workshop is the continuation of the discussion initiated in Beijing last October on data transmission challenges. This workshop will focus more specifically on challenges faced by large genomics projects. Objectives1. To review the current data transmission practices by major genomic research partners in UK, China and US , and seek the potential improvement and collaborations between partners and industry solution providers in data transmission technology The workshop is by invitation only.
