1 hour tutorial: Quick Ensembl Variation for Wet-Lab Biologists:
If you are interested in short sequence variation like Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) and feel more comfortable holding a pipette than browsing Ensembl, this short workshop may be for you!
What? 1 hour Quick Ensembl Browser Workshop
When? Friday, 25 Jan 2013, 12:00-13:00
Where? Teaching room, EBI
Instructors: Emily Pritchard & Giulietta Spudich
In just an hour, we'll take you through some examples of variation data you can access through the browser, and give you some to try yourself.
Maybe you've never used Ensembl before. Maybe you have, but you're not familiar with all the tools it offers.
This is a quick introduction to the browser aimed at wet-lab biologists. No specialist computing knowledge is needed, other than basic internet browsing skills: there will be no computer programming involved. This course is not suitable for bioinformaticians interested in programmatic access to the database.
No need to sign up, just come along on the day.
