Hands-on training at EBI - Joint EBI-Wellcome Trust Proteomics workshopCourse Summary
Title: Joint EBI-Wellcome Trust Proteomics workshopDate: 13-17 December 2010 Venue: EMBL-EBI, Hinxton, Cambridge, CB10 1SD, UK EBI Organisers: Vicky Schneider and James Watson WTAC Organisers: Rebecca Twells and Darren Hughes Admin Support: Yvonne Hitching and Julie Ormond Registration Opens: 1st March 2010 Registration Deadline: 20 August 2010 Course OverviewIs it right for me?This joint EBI-Wellcome Trust workshop provides hands-on training in the use of public databases for peptide analysis, annotation of subsequent protein lists using these resources, incorporation of information from molecular interaction and pathway databases, and the use of protein 3D-structure data in proteomics experiments. The workshop is aimed at research scientists with a minimum of a degree in a biological discipline, including laboratory and clinical staff as well as specialists in related fields. The practical elements of the course will take raw data from a proteomics experiment and analyse it in order to go from MS spectra, identify peptides and finally to lists of protein identifiers that can be analysed further using a wide range of resources. The aim is to provide attendees with the practical bioinformatics knowledge they need to go back to the lab and process their own data (including large datasets) when collected. What will I learn?
